Join us, in support of the Child Cancer Foundation…
Hogwarts’ Great Hall is opening its doors to muggles this July in support of the Child Cancer Foundation. We’re creating a night of magic for Christchurch by hosting a banquet dinner and live auction evening, filled with magical moments and spellbinding cocktails.
Muggles of Christchurch, thank you for your patience! We’ve been hard at work pulling together A Night at Hogwarts as a fundraiser for the Child Cancer Foundation and we’re thrilled to announce ticketing details.
We’re creating a magical evening in support of an organisation who wave their own wands to provide strength and comfort to families, parents and children impacted by child cancer. Tickets are on sale on the anniversary of the third Triwizard Tournament task (the 24th June) at 4pm. They’re available via Humanitix, a not-for-profit ticketing platform who also believe in supporting children.
What you need to know to secure your seat:
Tickets are 9 Galleons each ($225), ex. GST.
There are strictly limited tickets available & are first-come, first-served.
Tickets on sale on the 24th June at 4pm
Seating will be ‘by House’ - so you can purchase seats together (up to 10 at a time), but the Great Hall will be set out banquet-style.
The Great Hall at The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora will be transfigured to become Hogwarts for the night, including a banquet-style feast of Harry Potter inspired food, sweets & cocktails, with bespoke brewed ‘ButterBeer’.
DETAILS FOR THE HERMIONES AMONGST YOU (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS) -
Is this event suitable for younger Muggles?
Sadly not - A Night at Hogwarts is R18, due to licencing requirements. However, we’ve been blown away from the interest in attending this magical evening, and so we’ve joined forces with the Isaac Theatre Royal to create more magic. They’re hosting a screening of Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone on Tuesday, the 9th July at 11:00am - which is perfect for the whole whānau and you’re welcome to dress up! More details are available here.
Can I buy a corporate table?
For those of you attending from Gringotts or the Ministry of Magic, you’re welcome to purchase seats for your colleagues and coworkers. However, we’re mixing up the usual ‘table of ten’ and seating everyone by House; so you’ll be able to sit together, but you will be at a larger shared table in the spirit of the Great Hall.
Can I choose which House I’m in?
Ooh, we see you trying to pre-empt the Sorting Hat! Just as any first-year heading to Hogwarts for the first time must discover, we’re going to keep some tricks up our sleeves…. Watch this space.
Is the Feast included in my ticket price?
Your banquet (including delicious entrees, mains, a dessert trolley, wine, butterbeer and digestifs) are all included in your ticket price.
Can I reserve tickets?
We’re conscious that - with limited capacity - seats will be snapped up as quickly as tickets to the Quidditch World Cup. We’ll be posting a reminder on the event Facebook page but we encourage you to set an alarm so you don’t forget…. 4pm, 24th June!
How does A Night At Hogwarts support the Child Cancer Foundation?
All proceeds from the evening (including the Charity Auction) go to the Child Cancer Foundation.
I’d like to be more involved as a sponsor!
We knew we liked you! To either donate items for the Charity Auction, or to get involved as a sponsor, please contact Erin directly - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who are the wizards behind this?
At Narrative, we’re focused on getting people into Ōtautahi to experience the magic of our city. In partnering with the Child Cancer Foundation for A Night at Hogwarts, we’re welcoming Muggles into the Arts Centre, and supporting young Kiwi kids in need. Magic!
We were so privileged to work with Television NZ to build & launch the social media strategy for HEIHEI: the coolest app for kids in Aotearoa! HEIHEI is free to use & download, ad-free and safe - plus, it’s chocka with NZ-made content for our tamariki. If you haven’t already checked it out, this is a must!
We had THE MOST fun working with the World Buskers Festival team in 2018: helping to build and curate their digital strategy for the duration of the Festival.
We connected with over 1M people online for the World Buskers Festival in January 2018; instigating a Snapchat channel for the first time (32K views) and utilising Facebook + Instagram.
Narrative was over the moon to work with Bonnie & Hannah to help in bringing ‘levitate’, the game-changing mascara by indigo & iris to life.
The Kickstarter campaign raised NZ$127,945 (against a goal of $75K) and saw the launch of a legendary beauty brand ‘who gives a damn’. 50% of all of the profits of ‘levitate’ go to the Fred Hollows Foundation, helping to cure treatable blindness in the Pacific Islands.
Necesse is a collective of women supporting women. A social enterprise providing a convenient service for the to-your-door delivery of quality organic cotton tampons. Every order delivered to subscribers results in the donation of a box worth of organic cotton tampons to at-risk women, through our charitable partner Aviva.
Narrative was thrilled to work with Necesse on their successful crowdfunding campaign in late 2017 - we love what they stand for and the work that they’re doing!
Here at Narrative, we’re also big fans of a good ol’ shindig. Our Christmas parties have become iconic & we’ve organised everything from small + intimate to large + audacious. We specialise in keying into the purpose of an event: whether it’s community-building, raising funds or awareness.
The Christchurch Food Chase is Canterbury’s answer to a local dish competition between participating restaurants and cafes: held during the month of August 2019, establishments will have specially-created ‘Food Chase’ meals on offer. All meals are under $35 and many have an optional drink pairing.
Christchurch, you’re invited to get out and try as many of the Food Chase Dishes as you possibly can - and rate each one. Submit your voting card at the conclusion of your meal and go in the draw to win some epic - locally sourced - prizes.
The Christchurch Food Chase has been created by Narrative, for the city.
